Coolant for Baltica Basic 5 L

There is a wide range of auxiliary materials essential for servicing and maintaining vehicle air conditioning systems. These can include coolants, lubricants, sealants and cleaners, all of which contribute to optimal system performance and long system life. The use of the right auxiliaries will increase system efficiency, help prevent premature wear and failures, and ensure smooth and reliable operation of the air conditioning system.

A propylene glycol based heat carrier developed specifically for the AUTOTERM Baltica Basic system. Made for closed heating systems, it is compatible with both aluminium and stainless steel components and is non-corrosive.

Why the choice of fluid matters
In the Baltica system the coolant heats domestic hot water through a heat exchanger – shower water that ends up on the user's skin. That is why propylene glycol is required: it is far less toxic than the usual ethylene glycol based antifreeze, which makes it suitable for domestic systems.
The system also contains aluminium and stainless steel parts that an unsuitable antifreeze will attack over time. This is why the manufacturer specifies that the Baltica system may only be operated with fluid of this specification.

Never use water as coolant in this system.
If the system does not heat domestic water, G13 antifreeze may be used instead
Check the coolant once a year and flush the system every 2 years
First filling of a Baltica system starts with 4–6 litres, then it is topped up after bleeding, leaving at least a 3 cm air gap at the top of the tank.
